Do not knowingly ship a bad product. Teach this to all of your employees and instill it in every department. Tell them that your company sells only good products or provides only good service work. Dictate emphatically that the company does not knowingly give any customer a bad product. This also relates to warranting service work, shipping a part out that is known to have failed or selling anything else that is known as defective.
Establish this rule to protect your integrity. Establish a firm standard for everyone to follow that dictates clearly that nothing goes to a customer that does not pass your standards. This will be difficult to stick to but do it. Someone must step up and set your company’s standard. Otherwise you stand for nothing. Once you establish this reputation your business will grow and it will be one of your greatest attributes of differentiation. You want to be known for great products or service. Do not mar your reputation in any way.
Teach all employees this rule to work by, “We do not knowingly ship a bad product to our customers.”
