Many great productive employees who are promoted turn out to be lousy supervisors. They are promoted to a job they may not be trained to do. They may be great at running your production equipment but lousy at supervising others’ efforts to get production out the door. Ask your current supervisors where they think they need training and then offer it. They will tell you if they were promoted internally to their position. Ask them to go over their job description and point out where they are deficient, need help and further assistance to succeed.
