IDEA: Write a company chronological timeline: show customers your major accomplishments and keep it updated.

Start a company timeline and put it up on the wall for all to see at work. Modify it as needed when more key dates are remembered or need to be noted by the reader.   Demonstrate and point out company firsts. Mention the legal start date of the company, first address and building used for production, first working model created in the lab, first product sold, shipped and to where (color, features, who bought it), the first product shipped out of the country (which foreign country, who bought it, shipped by boat or plane), the 1,000,000th product that was shipped and where: keep it current and fresh. Enter when key personnel were hired and their monumental contributions, first time the company bought another company or facility, first time the company went public and other pertinent dates where accomplishments were recorded.  Understand that not only the time line tells a story but it gives depth to your company’s pitch to potential customers.   Make sure it is featured on a brochure, on the back of your literature and especially to be found on your website to add credibility to your sales pitch.
