IDEA: Deliver early and prove it the customer: write the ‘actual time’ next to the ‘promised’ time on the bills of lading.

Plan to deliver your product or service earlier than promised to your customers. Write on the bill of lading the planned delivery time and date that you initially promised to get their order to their door. After you get the order out the door and delivered earlier than normal to the customer’s site, write the actual earlier date and time next to the promise date to demonstrate your capabilities. A copy of this final signed (by customer’s representative) and dated Bill of Lading (BOLS or proofs of delivery) accompanies your invoice to the customer to provide proof of delivery.

Is there anything we missed?
