IDEA: Always put your employment offers in writing: respect working candidates’ positions.

When you make an offer to a candidate, put it in writing so he or she feels comfortable turning in their two week notice to their current employer.  You as an employer need to extend the offer in writing so they do not feel uneasy that your job you offered may not be there when they arrive.  Put their mind at rest and show you are a reputable company and you mean it about the job offer, pay rate and starting date.  Give them a written offer.
