IDEA: Ask each employee what their worst problem is at work every day.

Ask your employees what is holding them up, causing them to work late, what screws up their work schedule, or stops them from working, finishing a job, paperwork not completed or filled out incorrectly, problem incoming drivers, problems with forklift drivers, problems getting maintenance’s attention, problems with utilities or machinery and equipment that needs to be fixed, etc.   Ask all of your employees this question to uncover problems with your processes or production or simply training.  Instead of taking up the time of someone, hire an intern to ask this question and gather answers on a regular ongoing basis.  In just a few days, the intern will have a fairly good idea where the problems are within the company.
