IDEA: Do more and give more than customers paid for which will build goodwill and create returning customers.

Do more than you promise; surprise and delight the customer. Deliver early, handle registration forms for the customer, make installation easy, give customers free valuable advice.

Some examples of doing more than expected include:

  • Send a list to your client of what he can do to save taxes before yearend,
  • Include understandable written instructions with your product
  • Give new customers a 800 toll free phone number to ask questions about installation
  • Send email suggestions about flu shot reminders, medical check up times, when to refill a prescription or suggested lists of items to eat on restricted diets,
  • Reminders about getting your car tuned up, 5.)  time to check your AC system and heat pump or
  • Pet shots, vaccination reminders
  • Hair appointments
  • Garden centers remind you when to plant flowers, vegetable seeds, when to fertilize
  • Automotive shops tell you time for tuneups, or specials are featured,
  • Automotive dealerships offer special pricing for repeat customers, throw in free oil changes for a year
