IDEA: Focus groups are not normally creative, but, they can tell you your current product problems.

Focus groups are very good at telling you what they like and do not like about the product handed to them today.  They are not good at being creative and coming up with a new product.  They have their good attributes so remember to use them for this purpose to test out new ideas or concepts with your product line. In general, most employees are not creative, but they are very good at telling you what is wrong today with something given to them and asked to comment.
