Gather as many photos as possible, create descriptive interesting copy to accompany each, and get them assembled in chronological or product category order. Have these bound in a book or magazine format (internet publishing is cheap) and have all salespeople carry copies on sales calls to hand out to customers’ buyers.
People are spoiled by their eyes. Nearly everyone now is visually stimulated because of television, smartphones and the internet and do not want to read any more than necessary. Pass copies of these company manuals out in your firm’s lobby, trade shows, and trade fairs or on sales calls.
Include photos of all aspects of your business:
- Size: The largest product you ever assembled at a customer’s facility.
- Detail: The smallest most intricate product you sell. (Great high resolution, close-up shot next to a recognizable item in insinuate the size, i.e. a dime or nickel, someone’s finger, someone’s palm, a book, and inanimate object that easily recognizable to the reader).
- Action/Durability: Photos of your products being assembled, tested, blown up (demonstrates durability), thrown from an airplane, etc.
- Uses: Photos of various uses for your product or service (i.e. at work, at home, at leisure, while driving, while sleeping, etc).
- Maintenance: Photos of cleaning and ease of maintenance.
- Storage: Photos of suggested storage locations for your product (i.e. does not take much space, fits under your bed, on the upper shelf, folds up tightly into a very small space).
