GPI 411 – Try putting a QR code sticker on the front of your mailers to potential customers. Raise their interest quickly.
A QR code is a type of bar code that has been around awhile, to be used by a smart phone to direct the interested party in further information. They are seen on lots of products, but could be placed in a number of other marketing locations.
Ideas for a QR code sticker:
- Mailers/Brochures: Record a short concise video of your sales person asking if the potential customer would like a quote on a specific product or service. When you print the QR sticker, you might consider including a prompt, “Scan me if you like to save money!”, immediately above the sticker. Place these on the front or backside of your promotional brochures or mailers to prompt the recipient to call your firm for a quote.
- Lobbies/Waiting Rooms: Place the QR Code sticker in your lobby, accompanied by a picture of one of your attractive sales personnel. Advertise boldly, over the top of the code, “What we do in 30 seconds!” It will provoke the interest of your visitors because it is brief and remains a mystery until they scan the code. Make sure to make the video or website link pertinent and fast. Do not make customers wait.
- Catalogs: Tell the potential customer how to get a catalog or where to ask for one and provide it quickly.
- Discounts: Prompt the reader of a large sign in your entrance, “Scan here to hear our discounts!” Change out your specials weekly and indicate how frequently they occur by advertising, “Scan me for this week’s special ending 06/30/16” for example.
- Roadside Sign: Enlarge the QR code to put it on a sign outside the gate of your business after closing to allow interested passersby to visit your website or to watch a brief video of your firm’s capabilities. Make the sign large enough that it can be scanned from a car window.
