GPI 435 – Personalize your products – put your employees’ names on them.

When your employee completes the assembly and packaging of your product, inserts product instructions in the shipping box and adheres a company sticker on it stating an obscure operator number for compliance or QC inspection, think about adding something personal. For a minimal cost, add the employee’s name to the stickers that he places on the products.  It adds something warm and personal and creates ownership within the employee as well as pride.

Examples to consider:

  • Clothing: Juan Padilla proudly produced your child’s official NFL logo for his school shirt. Juan says your kid should look good just like his own do at home. He has five.
  • Hardware:  John Smith inspected your galvanized steel backyard gate and lock, one of our more popular selling models. You should have it a long time. A long, long time.
  • Bakery goods: Jasmine baked your three layer multi-colored festival cake today in addition to about 59 others she makes daily. Her husband says she smells like a birthday cake when she comes home. She just smiles.
  • Automotive service: Melvin not only inspected your transmission today (why you were here) but also checked the oil, radiator water level, all spark plugs, wiring and any other liquids associated with your brand and model of automobile.
  • Automotive parts: Jason Smith tested your new battery to ensure it was fully charged before installing it in your vehicle. He says now you are good to go.
  • Cooking equipment: Patrick Leeson took over two hours to assemble and test your new two rack multi-purpose backyard BBQ grill and smoker.  Happy eating.
  • Yard care equipment: Jackie Cheng spent over one hour inspecting, operating and checking all of the numerous functions of your new John Deere riding lawn mower.
  • Industrial motors: Hanson Winston worked on this diesel engine over six hours to ensure all parts were present and fully functional prior to having the shipping crew carefully put it in the shipping crate addressed to you.
  • Bakery goods: Gladys, last night, made over 160 dozen cake doughnuts when she made these for you. Gladys says, “Enjoy them.”
  • Bakery goods: Ricky Wayland enjoys making over 200 dozen tarts each night while he made these for you.
  • Food items: Leroy Jenkins came in yesterday at 6 a.m. to start slow cooking the BBQ sauce that smothered the ribs you just quickly ate. He says. “You’re welcome – uh, you have a little sauce on your cheek.”
  • Pet grooming services: Percy Slater spent a lot of time petting your dog and hand feeding it treats to make it happy during the whole grooming process.  Percy says he would do it all again since he loves dogs. He has six himself.
  • Computer services: Sean spent three hours cleaning, repairing and making your computer like new.  He is proud of what he does. He knows you are going to be happy as hell. He wants you to come back.
  • Pool cleaning services: Leland Biggins has been cleaning pools since he was 19.  He did a thorough job today; he cleaned the filters, checked the pump for leaks and for overall function, took the pH of the water and then skimmed the bottom twice.  He likes his job, does it well and wants you to know he appreciates your business. A lot.
  • Automobile painting: Curt Wagner has been painting for 27 years. He likes to paint. He smells like paint. He has paint under his fingernails because he took five hours to do a great job on prepping and spraying your automobile. He wants you to feel proud again to drive it out on the road.  Curt says he wants you to love your car again. Go driving.
  • Roofing repair: Ernie says he likes to stand on top of the world every day. He happens to be a great roofing tile man also. Now that his crew has finished fitting new shingles on your roof, he said from where he is standing on top of the world, you aren’t going to have any leaks for a while.  Quite a while.

Is there anything we missed?
