IDEA: Have employees check with supervisors at shift end. Report all open problems.
Ask employees to report items not completed or problems unresolved at the time they are leaving. Was a customer to be called back? Was there a vendor coming by to pick up a payment? Did all of the mail (regular and overnight) get mailed today? Are there any overnight packages that need to be dropped off? Were there any machine failures today or are you waiting for maintenance to fix a production tool or a critical machine? Did you answer all customers’ emails before leaving? Were there any significant problems incurred today that need to be reported to management prior to closing? You might write out the questions that you would like answered for your particular business and print them up to be filled in and completed by your employees every day.
