IDEA: Maximize your sales people’s time speaking with customers. Evaluate/reassign their duties.

How much of the time are your salesmen actually talking to and speaking with potential customers? Evaluate what they are doing through the week and reassign their non-selling duties to get them in front of customers more often, a much more productive use of their time for the cost you pay for sales reps!  Take away all of the keypunching and paperwork and forward it to an assigned clerical person to help.  Make sure you do everything you need to in order to allow your salesperson to be on the telephone calling and satisfying customers with follow-up.  Measure the time in front of customers before and after these duty changes and reassignment on clerical duties.  You want your sales people on the telephone or in front of new customers.  Provide them a list of new potential customers generated by your marketing group.  Now that he has time, he should be talking with many new potential customers.  Along with that comes new business. a great profit idea!
