IDEA: Your delivery men may be potentially your best direct sales people in the field and you do not know it.
Companies sell and deliver products on a regular basis. They have company delivery men who transport those orders to numerous customers every day. Many times they know the buyers better than your inside sales personnel having talked to them or seen them on numerous deliveries. For this reason, allow your delivery men to offer company and product literature and new catalogs that feature items on sale, new products, specials of the week and any other ongoing promotions that may be relevant. The buyers may ask the delivery men if they sell these items often on other delivery runs and your drivers are going tell they deliver them every day all over town. Reward these delivery men (truck drivers) when their efforts sell more products. Also give them importance and allow them to take back items the customer does not like or does not want. If the driver is going to be allowed to help sell, he needs to be able to make some sales related product decisions also in order to satisfy his customers on the spot.
