IDEA: Retain spare ‘master’ company vehicle keys in case of ‘lost’ keys.

Keep spare keys for all company vehicles in the office or dispatcher’s reach in order to have them available for that day when a company truck driver is locked out of his truck 1,500 miles out of state. Designate one key the master key and never give it out. Use it only to make a replacement keys. Make responsibility for vehicle keys part of the incentive plan for all assigned drivers.
