IDEA: Pay your sales reps a bonus for bringing in new customers. You need to bring in new sales.

Your firm needs new blood and it is very important to bring in new customers every day. Pay your sales personnel a special bonus or incentive immediately for the first order received from a new customer (onetime bonus or an additional % commission for a finite time period).  You will never know which customer brought in will generate 25% of your sales next year or introduce you to their large parent company which owns multiple locations for you to visit. Do not stagnate on the same group of customers; pay your people specifically to expand. Pay these bonuses within days of receiving the order from a new customer. Make it an extremely motivating program you will never regret. It will also make your stand out in the market and others will want to come work for you if you are willing to reward performance.
