IDEA: When setting goals, select a few to be successful: not too many just to fail.

It is easy to select a multitude of ideas to work, many new projects to start, but it is another thing to finish them.  Select a couple of major items facing your company and focus for a few months on those couple of issues (i.e. getting new customers, stopping product rejections, reducing overall production scrap, reducing unnecessar overtime, cutting unnecessary spending, etc.).  Groups of people involved with making these goals work need to be focused and reminded of the one or two that the group is currently working on.  Remind them daily with tracking charts and reward those who create successes.
